i got a 2008 mazda 6 not too long ago, and it i have had no probems with it, but its a v4, and left hand turns on busy streets, as well as merging on the highway can be a nightmare with it, i can floor it and i wont feel any difference for a full second, what can i do (besides buying a new engine) to increase response time and acceleration. and i suppose if you know how expensive a new engine will be then you can throw it out there, i already know it will be over 4,000 at least.

If you are losing acceleration like that then your catalytic converter is probably clogged up. Best thing to do is replace it ( $400). The cheap way is to break up everything inside it and take the stuff out ( it looks like honeycomb). It is illegal, but no one is going to be taking your exhaust pipe off to look at it, lol.
