ok so i have a custom built pc, it has a msi k9a2 platinum mobo a phenom 9600 quad core processor running at 2.3 Ghz, i have 8 gb of ram and an xfx radeon 4890 video card, and im running windows 7 home edition (64bit) i borrowed crysis from a friend assuming that i could run it with these specs and when i did fraps showed me only getting about 15 fps on average and less during action parts, from what i read i should be able to get about 30 on average, 15 fps at absolute minimum, but at the moment my absolute highest is 25 if im REALLY lucky, i have made sure that all extra apps are closed i have game booster (2.1 version) basically only windows and other essential tasks are running, i know that all drivers are up to date cuz i updated them today (3/8/2011). now i have heard of the TLB (translation look-up buffer) erratum problem with the processor but my mobo has updated bios which fixes that, but supposedly lowers performance but i still seem to be getting the same performance as before (judging by software that tells me so
), besides ive seen crysis run on a dual core before (user obviously had a beastly video card not sure of the exact model it was an hd 5970 i think) so i have eliminated that as the bottle neck, i have plenty of ram, even if the clock speed on my ram was low ( and im pretty sure its not) i should still have plenty to run crysis, another thing from what ive seen crysis is more intense on video card than anything, but as a stated before i should be able to get at least 30 fps on average (which is enough to make me happy) any help is greatly appreciated
oh and no amd vs intel wars or ati vs nvidia wars, its silly, i go for what offers the best speed for the best proce and at the moment its amd products maybe in a few years it will be intel or nvidia and if so then i will buy their products, im not a fan boy or biased towards any company, im just looking out for my wallet
