i know it takes time and patience to get good at martial arts etc but for the moment what can i do to help me along the road?
i just want to be able to move faster
be stronger
be stronger for taking punches to my body
and be able to stay on my feet without being out of energy

i understand how to get stronger via weights and how to build stamina via cardio and at the moment i have a small program to tone myself up

but can anybody just give a few eg of specific ways to do so
ie plyometrics for speed in legs?
weights for stronger arms? etc etc

thanks

Do sets of kicks on a bag like 10 side kicks 10 thrust kicks 10 round house kicks believe me it works your kicks become very powerful and quicker because to you are repeating it over and over. Same with the punches hit the bag with out hand wraps to make your fist relly tough. A good plyometric is to find something to jump over that is high like a chair but jump only if you can do it your six sense will tell you if you cant or not do 40 jumps good for your heart. Push ups make your punches fast and is a very benifial plyometric most of all pratice all your kicks and punches full speed once you can do it properly.

My opinion is a bit bias, however, I recommend Tai Chi Chuan. With Tai Chi Chuan, you can control your body better, keep better balance, be able to locate your energy to different parts of your body and control it better. Find a proper teacher as well, because if you find one that only teaches the health aspects of Tai Chi, you'll only learn half of what you could be learning. You will most likely increase your senses, be more aware, and so on.
