How to I remove my abusive father's name from a car I own and paid for.?

When I was younger I bought a car and had my father's name on it in case something happens to me so that the state doesn't take it. Then I found out that since the car is owned by me and paid by me, that it will automatically go to my next of kin (my parents cuz I'm single and no kids). My dad has been becoming more and more emotionally abusive and a plain racist a-hole! I want his name off my property! How do I get his name off my title???? Do I need an attorney or can I do it myself?

If your father was not on the loan, then he needs to sign off on the title and just add your name.
