What do you mean by "login to your google account"? Through the browser or using the gmail app?

Through the gmail app. The browser worked fine.

Well, the gmail app only works when connected to a network.

On your phone try going to settings > applications > development and turning on USB debugging. I had the same problem and this worked for me.

the apn back & restore trick doesnt seem to work on the hero, but it works on the eris.

Worked for me just fine. Im using damage control, It didnt work on the stock rom for me.

james which version of DC are you using?, ive already rooted but im still on stock rom. Will that trick work with DC v2.07?


What are you trying to do, push the telephony.db? It didn't work for me, could never get it to push.. kept saying permission denied.

But you have to root it before you can try to push that, heres a guide that worked for me:

ok after working with dj we we have found out how to get mms working.

root your hero
Flash your hero with damage control 1.0

install apn backup and restore from the market
open it and backup apn

plug in your usb and and go to the apn backup folder. open your backed up apn with notepad. Change vtext to mycricket. Dont do anything els. Save and unplug the usb cable.

Open apn and click delete apns,
now hit restore apns and select your backed up apn that you have changed.

enjoy mms on cricket!

Im have tried, but to no success yet, im going to re roll my rom from start without the anycut solution in and see if that makes a difference, ill post back if i have any success.

Actually he already had it working, I didn't. I tried lots of things, but the one thing I didn't try was DC v1.0.

Hope this helps other people that are having as much trouble as I was.

You should be able to use the same proxy solution to work on any android phone that you have root access to.
