How to hook up emergency lights in your car?

im a firefighter and am trying to hook up lights now i am very mechanically inclined i just need to know how to do it i wanna hook it up so it gets power from the batt and possibly to a switch but as long as i can get power to it the switch will be no prob i just need to know how to do it like where do i plug the wries and etc. thanks in advance.
