I have an old DVD/VCR combo, and I'm wondering if there's a way to hook it up via the S-Video connection. Both the VCR/DVD player and the Laptop have S-Video connections, and I have an S-Video cord that came with my graphics card for my desktop computer, and I'm wondering if there's a way to hook the VCR/DVD player up so I can get the video off of some home VHS's. Have the connection's all connected but nothing happens on the computer. Any ideas or is this not possible?

Thanks!

The Computer's s-video is video OUT
The VCR's s-video is also video out. You can't connect two output ports to each other.

You need to buy a video capture card/dongle for your PC. Most of them are now USB based and they allow you to record from other devices. Look at Dazzle, Pinnacle, and ADS Technology.
