How to Hook Up a MIDI Keyboard to a Computer?

My Casio keyboard has a midi in and out and I would like to hook this up to my computer. I don't know much about computers but anyway... I know in order for this to work I need to have a midi joystick port in the computer... I don't have a clue what that is... I'm not even sure if my computer has that... Can someone guide me through step by step.... how do I do it? Thanks!
