How to hit a first kicker (15 to 30 foot landing gap)?

I am a rail rider but want to diversify my riding by learning some air tricks. There are some 15-30 foot landing gap jumps at my local ski area and I was just wondering how I should approach and the mechanics I should use for my first straight air, cause I don't want to nose it and tamohawk down the hill on my first hit of the day

Try "turning your board sideways" and riding an edge to control your speed hitting it.

Keep your board straight, or you will catch a edge at any speed.

You don't want to catch your tail on it or you will wash out. You don't want to catch your nose on it or you will somersault. Picture landing on it ready to slide.

Try taking it slow and jumping right before you go off of it to practice and get used to it.

I have no way of knowing if they are steep jumps, or just long jumps, drop offs... So I can't really help you any more.
