How to handle financial aspects of Army training?

I am in the Army reserves as an E4 and have been asked if I wanted to attend DLI for language school. They said the length was 63 weeks. At first I thought I heard them wrong but no, it is about 15 months in length.
I have a good civilian job that pays the difference in salary for up to six months. So the first six months would be no problem at all, but the remaining months would get very difficult. With a 4500 a month mortgage and getting only E4 pay, I'd be in trouble.
Deployment is a different story because they don't take out taxes then and we can usually scrape together enough for the second half of the deployment.
I actually *want* to get the training but really don't want to give up my dream home.
They said it can be made to be a PCS move but I don't think that would be a good idea because my wife would have to quit her great job. Plus I don't want to uproot the kids in school. I live about 3 hours away and would just go home on the weekends.
Has anyone had a similar situation and what did you do?
