For years, I have used my Xbox 360 Media Center Extender to connect to my PC. Always worked great. Recently -- even though I have no new software or hardware -- the Xbox 360 Extender has been having trouble connecting. Sometimes it works, rarely -- but most of the time, when I load the Windows Media Center on the Xbox, it says shows the "Windows Media Center... contacting..." screen for a long time... and then... black screen. The media center screen never appears. All one can do is press the Guide button and return to the dashboard.
When running tests, everything claims to be connecting okay. Turning off Firewall doesn't help. Putting the Xbox in the DMZ on my router doesn't help. I've scoured the Internet and MS support forums with no luck.
(No other aspect of the Xbox has trouble -- Xbox Live and playing videos over the network work fine -- it's just the Extender which won't load.)
