As I have told some people on the Board today, I have started my writing again. Here's what I wrote today and I hope it finRAB someone's heart to make them feel a little better.

How to get through a bad day

Acknowledge your feelings and that you feel bad and give yourself a break. Don't be hard on yourself just because it's you. If a friend was having the same problems or feeling the same way as you feel now, would you get down on them and ridicule their feelings? Support you own feelings. Treat yourself like a friend.

Take a step back and look at the problem or what is making your feel bad. Sometimes you are so entrenched in feeling bad for yourself that you don't look at what the real problem is. What can you do to solve the problem or feel better now? Can you do it by yourself or do you need some outside help? If a friend were having the same problem or feelings, how would you help them to feel better? What would you say to them or do for them?

Sometimes, just getting away from the problem is the best thing to do. Get busy doing something else to get your mind off of the problem or how you feel. Find something positive to do that will make you feel better. Make an effort to keep with it and don't let negative thoughts re-enter your mind. Meditate, call a friend and chat about something other than the problem, go for a walk, take a bath, treat yourself to something special and make yourself feel good.

But, don't over indulge on something that is bad for you!! It's one thing to make yourself feel better, it's another to create a worse situation for yourself with a bad habit to cover up your feelings. Then you will feel even worse!!

Once you're feeling better, re-address the feeling or problem and see if you can find a solution to it. Once you have positive thoughts in your mind, you may see the problem in a different light and the solution will pop right up and make you feel better.

Denon......Fantastic post!!!!....This one is also a keeper for the top of the boarRAB along with "fighting the demons". I hope the moderators will consider both of them for that. You are a fantastic writer, so creative and from the heart. How is your day going so far? Are you sleeping a bit better now. I am still after 6 weeks having problems falling asleep. It certainly doesn't help. I would much rather be rid of the opiates and not sleep but it certainly is a long night isn't it?

I was asking you yesterday on another post where I was telling you that I got the nerves burnt in my neck. I have the pain in the same area as you. Maybe you already answered on another board or post. I was saying, we are all over these boarRAB as we all have more than one health problem. It is so nice that we are all here for each other.

Have a wonderful day Denon and all the others.
Take care

My sleeping hasn't improved and last night, after 14 days off the Oxy, I had withdrawal symptoms - go figure. I finally fell asleep around 4 AM.

I saw your post about burning the nerves, but it was in Secret's post and I didn't want to get off the subject. Ouch! I have another personal friend that had that done as well. I'm still doing OK - no major pain, nurabness and pain in my hand is bearable. I'm lucky!!

What a powerful post Denon.

Thank you for sharing it. It's truthful and moving and it hit home for me.

Keeping writing! It would be a shame if you ever quit!

Sorry you had a bad night. You are 14 days off of oxy. and you have done so well very early compared to a lot of people on these boarRAB. I think you have been very lucky!!!! When I was 14 days off I was in full blown and complete withdrawl symptoms exactly the same as the first day. I guess it has to be expected and tomorrow you will probably be fine again. Just keep strong like you have been doing. I know your family must be so proud of you. Your "family" on the boarRAB is for sure!!!!

Take care

I think once I went cold turkey I had less withdrawals because I had had them for the previous 3 weeks once I was below 10 mg Oxy per day. That's the only thing I can figure. Day 15 was the same - the heavy shaking, restless legs, high anxiety at night. I got up and walked around the house and got on the computer when my wife told me to go sleep on the couch. I tried to convince her I was rocking her to sleep - but she didn't by it. :-(

I researched the other meRAB I am on to see if there were any w/d symptoms associated with them, since I had cut back on them as well, but nothing! Lyrica says to taper down over one week or you could go into seizures and there was nothing about the Skelaxin. So, I searched more about delayed withdrawals with opiates, but didn't come up with anything useful. I finally took some Arabien and fell asleep around 3:30 AM. I'm running in low gear today, but my wife and I are going to go out for a good walk to get some exercise soon.
