How to get the use out of a certified toyota warranty before it expires?

i have an 03 tacoma pre runnner. it just turned 86k miles.

i know that the timing belt is almost due to be changed.

i purchased my truck 2 year ago and paid almost $1800 for my certified warranty.

this is my first warrantied vehicle. i have never used to insurance for anything. i dont want it to expire and me not have gotten anything out of it. i want my $1800 worth.
what sort of things are covered under the toyota certified warranty?
does anyone have any experience with toyota warranty?
