How to get the facebook pop out chat on to the bar?

my facebook chat is a pop out (at least that is what everybody says) so a new window comes up when i want to chat, i have tried everything that ppl tell me to do and nothing works (but frankly some of the things they tell me to do make nooooo sense) so i want to know how to get the chat to go onto the bar at the bottom of the screen like it does on all of my friends computers/lap tops. if you can help me then that would be GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!! thx in advanced
