how to get rid of carbon dust in my fish tank?

i was getting my 10 gallon fish tank set back up after being in the basement for a few years when i got everything running and put the filter in i bought i forgot to wash out the carbon dust anything i can do to get rid of it and how harmful is it to my fish if i get any?
 
I've forgotten to rinse my filter before. It won't do any harm to your fish. The only thing you could do would be to clean the entire tank out, but when I did it I didn't have any problems w/ cloudiness, or anything. I think the filter may have actually cleaned the dust particles out.
