how to get ps3 online with motorola surfboard cable modem [read details]?

i have a motorola surfboard cable modem and i have an ethernet plug that doesnt have any green or orange light inside but it has internet and i never tried hooking up a modem to a ps3 but my internet works the connection is fast it is under optimum online service the ethernet cable light dont come on when i plug it to my computer the internet works though can i still go on ps3 online
 
Plug the Ethernet cable from the modem into the PS3 instead of the PC, and you will have Internet on your PS3.

I'm not sure why you keep saying anything about lights in the Ethernet cable. None of my Ethernet cables have lights in them. The lights are not necessary for the cable to work.
