How to get my best friend to quit complaining about not having found someone?

my best friend complains constantly that he's never found someone, its so annoying. What can I do to keep him hopeful but not desperate?
someone of value I mean, he goes on dates but he hasn't had a girlfriend for awhile.
he's not ugly, girls constantly think he's cute, he has had confidence issues lately.

He needs to get his mind off this subject.

Get him to take dance lessons. He will be outnumbered by the gals simply because guys hate dancing.

Tell him that no one is going to want him if he continues to act like he's given up. We ladies can tell, y'know. :)

If he ignores that, just tell him that he's being a royal pain in the ass. Frank and to the point.
 
Tell him/her that they should just move on in life.That special person will come to them in the future, but for now they should just keep pushing for their goals in life.
