Yesterday, there was a photo I really wanted to get, but when executed the resulting picture was almost only just overly blown out. I wanted a picture with a focused subject and motion blur around it of people going past. The problem was, it was a bright day anyway... is this type of photo not possible on a bright day? I used ISO 100 (the slowest film speed available on my camera), made the aperture at 22, as small as I could so the least light could come in, and I set the shutter speed at 1/15th of a second and tried lower but the longer I tried to get the blur effect, the whiter and less detailed the picture became.
how to get motion blur but not a blown-out photo?
