how to get html in front of flash?

im trying to get html objects in front of a flash object on my website.

problem is that ive tried everything.

i set the wmode to transparent and opaque and neither worked.

i tried putting the html image in flash but when i put transparent or opaque in there i cant get rid of the green background.

help???
i can't use z-index's, they don't work.
