I tryed to get into a apprenticeship program to become an electrician a few months ago. I meet all the qualifications expect the experience part. I have my High School diaploma, 2 years alegbra, over at 18 and so on. So my question is how do i get experience in the field? I mean i know i could go to trade school but the thing is you can learn just as much on the job with a journymen. So should i just call up electrical companys and ask them to be a laborer and tell them i want to learn the trade. I live in the michigan and jobs are hard to find here. If anyone has any worlds of wisdoms or just little tips to help me that would be great. Also if i have to go to trade school i will its no problem i just would rather get into the apprenticeship program and get paid to learn
