how to get cyanide out of a cassava root (for a TV show!)?

Hello! I'm writing a Sunday-night TV detective show in the UK and I'd like to poison someone with the root of a cassava plant... which I know contains Cyanide. Clearly - from even basic research - it would be easy to do this by making someone ingest the untreated root (it's only a Sunday night detective TV show - think Midsomer Murders - so it doesn't have to be 100% clinically accurate). Anyway, here's my question:

Using a secondary school lab, might there be a way of removing the cyanide from a cassava root... *as a liquid*? In other words, I'd like the murderee to *drink* the cyanide (rather than eat it).

(There's actually a fighting chance this TV show might get made by the BBC, so any help that can be offered will result in... well, no real tangible benefit to you beyond the warm glow of knowing what a help you've been - and I would of course let you know if your advice made it into the script - and if/when it's broadcast. As an e.g., I was recently helped with a Prussian Blue Test that is still in the script... Anyway, enough wittering. Over to the hive mind!)

Yours

Yes, I appreciate it looks dodgy - lol. But look at it from my point of view: I do this sort of research ALL THE TIME, so I must appear on loads of government/Police watch lists... for a demonstration of some bona fides, I draw your attention to my Y! questions: feed://uk.answers.yahoo.com/rss/userq?kid=8CnjRSzvaa
Josh G - thank you for expressing far better than me the logical improbability of me looking for methods of murder on an open forum.... and love the idea of a juicer, that's really elegant (the murderer is a retired female Chemistry teacher, so a juicer would suit her profile nicely).... um.... because I'm still a selfish question asker, how many ml of cassava juice do you think might be enough to kill? Or is there a way of condensing it down would you imagine (as it's bound to be a large amount of liquid)? Hmm. Maybe I'll go off to the internet and continue searching - but thanks so far!
