how to get better sound in my ps3 bluetooth headset?

i was just playing mw2 with a friend, and i just got a ps3 bluetooth headset... but when we started playing i could barely hear what he said, so is it anyway to fix that or something? please help, because i spent a lot of money on it and i wont use it if i can barely hear what people are saying to me
