How to fix the resolution from my Mac Mini to Panasonic TH-37PX60U?

You probably have done this but have you tried going to system preferences>displays and A) setting the maximum resolution and B) trying the button that says detect displays.
Also, 10.6.4 came out today, you should run software update just in case.

I have an DVI to HDMI cable that I'm using to connect my Mac Mini and Panasonic TH37PX60U tv. It works, but the quality is not good at all. The display resolution is set to 1080i, and I have tried 1080p (it's even worse) and tried the other settings. Words are fuzzy, images are mottled (colors blending, not sharp), and the picture does not extend to the edges, ie, there's a 1" black border around all sides. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do to fix the picture quality? Is there a new driver I should install on the Mac Mini, new firmware for the Panasonic, a custom resolution, or something else? I have read the Mac Support forums, there's very little help that I've found. The Mac Mini is OSX 10.6.3, it's a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo machine with 4GB of memory.
