How to fix a ATT Nokia 3650?

Hi all,

I got this Nokia 3650 thru ATT from a friend of mine. The problem is I think it's broken, and was wonderign if anyone knew how to fix it. Here's what happens when I press the power button:

- The screen turns white and a blue "NOKIA" logo appears on the bottom and then fades away. Then it reappears and fades away again.

- Then, the logo appears and fades twice at the top of the screen.

- After 4 times total, it just shuts off.

Can this be a software problem? Is this fixable? If it is, any suggestions? Or sites other than this i can visit? If anyone can shed some light on this, that'd would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

it is a software/hardware problem that is not rare for that model. I have scene 3 with the same problem and reflashing did not fix them they all had to be sent off to Nokia for direct repair. Call nokia and send it off to them for repair.

I had this prob w/ my old 3650 once. I had put one of my sim cards in,which was pretty old, like 3 years, and it did just as you described. It did not do it with my new sim.

Ok. As of right now, there is no sim card in it. It only has the mmc. Also, is there an alternative to the nokia service center? My friend gave me one of these that he bought from somewhere a while ago. Is there a alternative to this? Also, can it be fixed like at local cell phone shops? What are costs?

Thanks.

Well here's the situation. I called up the nokia service center and since I'm not sure if I have warranty left on it or not, they said I can send it to their repair center. Then, their techs will check it out and give me an estimate of how much it's gonna cost and wati for a reply for about 10days. If I choose not to fix it, they just send it back. I think this might be my best bet. Also, when I talked to a authorized repair place, they said that it could be the board on the phone and it would require them to send it to the manufacturer and cost a flat rate of $115. Is this what I am looking at? Should I just risk the shipping cost of sending it to the nokia service center and hope for a cheap easy fix?
