I want a tent to take camping. I'd like to go to the beach, mountains, state parks, etc. One thing I worry about is rain. I've heard you can't get a true waterproof tent for a reasonable price, only water resistant. I don't want to spend $300 on a tent that I may not use that much. I just need enough room for a full size air mattress and to change clothes. Any suggestions? Oh, and it has to be one I can set up by myself.

Walmart has decent cheaper tents. With water resistant tents... you can't let anything touch the sides or the water will leak into the tents. Try Academy stores though. Their tents are better and have some that will do better in colder weather.

Just go to a caravan / camping show and look there for the tents. They are all set up for you to view, so you know which ones for you. don't buy them from there though, apart from if their on deals. Take the name and go home and buy one of Ebay or something , you can get some real cheap second hand ones if you don't know.
