How to edit html in windows 7?

I used to edit HTML by going to view>source in windows xp

that would display the code in notepad

however, in windows 7, if I go to View> source, the code is displayed in page that cant be edited.

how do i edit them?

I find myself sometimes making buggy HTML files by missing a single tag, and i cant edit them.
