how to download flash player for a macbook?

i recently bought a macbook and i wanted to download flash player cause when i went to this site it told me to download flash player and i went on the site wtv and downloaded for mac os x wtv and it still did not work for me does anyone know how to download flash player? my macbook os x is version 10.6.1 any information would be rly apreciated. also im a little new to macs, thanks
