HI, I was wondering if anyone here can help me out. i live in a place where there is t mobile signal here and at&t, what i wana do(for personal reasons) is make my signal switch to at&t, now i have been able to do that but i can only make SOS(emergency) calls when i switch it to at&t. is there a way i can switch it to at&t and make any reguler calls. with it? i have tmobile... and i have the blackberry 8320.

well it cant actually switch to att signal but u go to
options>mobile network>highlight network selection mode> click trackball> select automatic if an option and thats all she wrote.. hope this helps..
what that does it will give the phone a chance to look for a closer towed on the same frequency even if it not a cell tower of tmobile...

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~it has to be on manual and you have to add the network that way...for example...Options> moble network...change network selection mode to manual> it will then search for available networks...choose the one you want and go from there. The only time you can use att is when you are in an area that doesn't have tmo, it is set up that way for a reason. For an example I can use Tmo or suncom because suncom is owned by tmo, but none of add on works, no text or browser. Any way, good luck.

It also has to do with the roaming agreements the companies have in place. They don't want you roaming off someone else's towers if they have thier own available in the same area because of the added costs they incur paying for those roaming charges. You mentioned you have an 8320, is there no wi-fi available to you where you are trying to do this?

So my guess is that you are trying to get out of your contract without an etf? If so that wont work for you when tmo looks at that they are gonna see that you have towers in that area and not waive the etf.
