Anyone know how to disengage the 4wd on a 2000 4-runner. I've done it once before through trial and error and with reading the owners manual. I keep shifting from H4 to H2 then it stops blinking, then few seconds later it blinks again. I'm getting so frustrated, I can barely turn and it's eating up my gas. I swore I would never push the button again, but my mechanic did and he can't turn it off and I said that I did once, but it's not working. He offered that I bring it in to him again if I can't do it, but I would like to know for myself to. Anyone got a clue?

I also recently got my rear drive shaft rebuilt, so maybe that would have to do with anything???
