How to develop android app in c++?

To my knowledge people say it's possible but over complicates things and is limited because all the applications are in java virtual machine.but what no body seem to be noting is that java vm itself runs on platform completely on c++ & c#.
Also, I'm willing to learn poynton instead of java. Java got versions libraries and weird syntax.
