...at 5 feet, 4 ft 3 ft etc...? I have a vertical steel pole in the ground. I want to weld a piece of pipe perpendicular to the pole and use it to lift engine blocks etc.. if the block puts 100lbs of force right next to the pole, how much does it increase at 5 feet from the pole. Its like a lever. I know the farther away from the pole, the more lbs of force it will exert on my weld point, but I would like to be able to figure out a rough estimate. Thanks ahead of time for your help.
If I can work the equation not needing to know more than college algebra then I would appreciate the formula. If its complex then I would appreciate just the answer so that I don't kill myself.
