How to cut songs into ringtones?

I want to take normal MP3s and edit them into songs and files small enough to be the ringtones on my phone. Is there any free software packages I can download that you would recommend? I just need something simple and don't want to pay anything or get viruses. Thanks in advance.
 
dvd video soft free studio type it in google and download it, its got loads of cool tools on there so you can download songs from youtube aswell.
