I went fishing for bass and didn't catch one but I caught this catfish and gold and black goldfish but my friend said it was a koi so is there a different type of way to prepare this?

It's a type of carp, so I would figure you could cook it like carp.
Koi are only expensive if they are certain breedings. You can get koi from special fancy breeders for thousands of dollars, and you can koi for $5 at Walmart.
