How to convince my mom to add texting to my cell phone?

Ok so I just got my phone & my mom got it for me bucause I needed a new phone. So she got me a phone with a full keyboard for texting. And she didn't add texting to the plan I have no idea why. So can you tell me some ways i can convince her to add unlimited texting to the plan? Thanks.

you should tell her it would be good for if you got kidnapped you could easily txt her without the guy that took you knowing and that also it is easier for you to check in with her when you are out with friends and stuff
