I just pulled apart my 1999 Mercury Sable Antenna and I replaced it with an after-market universal antenna. The problem I am having is converting the universal antennas connection that is supposed to go into the back of the deck into the preexisting cable that is running from the deck to my OEM antenna. The connection on the Ford cable looks like the universal but it has a space for a pin in the middle and it is smaller than the pin on the universal adapter.
Is there an adapter out there that would connect that connection to the new cable? I was told I cannot splice it so what do I do? I don't want to have to run another cable all the way back the deck only to have to get another stupid deck FM adapter. I checked at Radioshack, they were no help and my local parts dealer has no clue. Thanks for any help!
