How to control a whining puppy?

He is male / Half Pomeranian Half Pug / 8 weeks old

He whines every time we go away. We gave him food and water and milk, and even toys, a bone, and a nice cushion bed. He wants to get out and play but the thing is it's night and we have to go to sleep! But he keeps whining, what do you do to get him to be quiet? He stops every time we go back with him. I feel bad though because he is only a puppy and wants to be friendly a playful, then again, I want him to be trained because you puppy owners must know what I mean! How do we train him properly? We love him but need our sleep! Lol. We just picked him up today.

When your puppy cries and you go back to him you are reinforcing his behavior. Do not go to him when he is whining! Let him cry, he will get tired!

your pup need to adjust, ofcourse its a bit scared of it's surroundings. let your pup see you love him, try talking to it, try cuddling it, show affection, try giving him toys to play with, this may work, i did this to my pup, try getting a hotwater bag fill it with warm water, then put a clock near it, your pup wont be sad, he will sleep on it, for he will feel like his mother's warmth then his hearing his mom's heart beating, thats the thing i did to my puppy when his really whining, if all fails let him cry, he will adjust.
