How to confess to a girl I like?

Well, first things first, I myself am a bisexual female. The girl in question is one of my close friends, and I've had feelings for her for quite a while now.
Basically, I want to tell her this...but I don't know how to do so or how I should expect her to react.
 
Is she a bisexual?
Because I doubt many people who are set on being straight will change their minds.
There are ways to let her know your attracted to her.
Like touching her shoes with your foot and act like it was an accident (if you do this short of things often a person can tell that you like them). There is always the option of being straight forward and asking if she is bi. Or Tell a story in the form of a question.
Ask her if she had a really good friend who had been with her for years and what she would do if she finds out that she is bi and has a crush on her. (just don't tell her that really good friend is you)

This question's answer depends on progress. its like getting 1st base then 2nd and 3rd so I can't answer it all in one.

Personal experience:
I am a guy and i have a friend who I think might like me. I know this cuz he always touches my hands and feet and acts like its an accident (guys don't do this to each other). Tries to impress me. But I am not bi so I didn't give positive feedback to his body language. Don't be scared of rejection. I personally think rejection is better than stressing over if she likes you or not.
 
well is she into girls... have you flirted a bit? gotten the vibe?....
sigh damn you i wish this would happen to me.

maybe just mention one day that you HAD a crush on her once before and see how she takes that. i dont know how old you are or if your into this but alcohol helps :p
 
i'm a straight girl and i am friends with a few girls who are bi...one of them told me they liked me as more than a friend and i stopped talking to her...my advice? if she's straight...just let it go because u may lose a friend and thats worse than the 'What if...' factory in your brain...
 
I'd say good on you for being brave. Well, the fact that you're a female friend is not a big difference from being a male friend who fancies their friend, is it? I mean, does it matter whether you're same sex or opposite sex? If male friends can hit on female friends, why can't female friends hit on female friends? She may or may not be bisexual or lesbian, but why not ask? If she says no, you can always meet someone else who will be keen and if she says yes, you've got a new partner who you've already developed a good relationship with. She may feel good or may feel uncomfortable but if she is a good friend she will be fine and get over it the same way as she would if a guy friend hit on her and she wasn't interested. The only way you're going to know is if you ask her though :)
