I've just gotten myself a brand new old bike. It came out of a stage prop, and looks like it was made in the 1950s. It says Gazelle on the side, and Made in England, and has a Brooks spring loaded seat. It's in fairly good shape and functions. It's a 3 gear and the gears are inside the axle of the rear wheel. I tried the gears when I had the bike inverted and they seemed to work. When I took it on the road, I think I got them to change only once or twice. Any tips on cleaning/adjusting these?
It's got a black paint job. I've cleaned it to remove the dust and dirt but the black finish looks dull. What do I use to make the black finish look shiny? Additionally, there is minor rust around some of the chome colored nuts (like around the brakes levers.) Is there anything that will remove or reduce the the rust on and around the nuts?
Thanks!
