How to choose speakers that are gonna fit to my car?

Nissan Maxima 2000 I also have "Extreme" amplifier 1200w. What speakers will be great? I dont want any subs. The secret is that I want to leave my original car stereo and just have loud and high quality sound. Imagine: old car stereo, but sound is awesome, ha?
 
Take a look on either the Best Buy or Circuit City (I've always had better experiences with Circuit City). Both have a tool on their site that will tell you if the item will fit your car. If you leave the original stereo, you won't see much if any increase in sound quality. It doesn't matter how good you speakers are if there is a mediocre source. Your best bet is to pick up a mid-range head unit too. They are usually about $100 and have much better sound quality, especially considering that your stereo is almost 9 yeas old.
