how to choose between goldfish and tropical fish?

i have a 20 galon long and cant decide between goldfish or tropical i have successfuly raise d the two now i cant decide help me plz
i dont want to wast money on fish i wont like
 
Goldfish - Easier to keep (i.e. no heater required)

Tropical Fish - Pretty to look at


I, personally, raised both too and I LOVED tropical fish.
