how to check my own cars Carfax history report?

i just want to see the history that my car has been in.all that i know is that the car has been in a accident once with one of the owners but i wanna see more details on it.the car works fine and everything,never had a problem with it when i first bought it.

its just that im curious to know about the cars history and wanted to see if their was a free way to check out its carfax report for free or if someone could do it for me.i'll really appreciate it and points to whoever helps me out.
