Clubs are terrible places to chat up people because they are too noisy.
Look, a girl is going to such a place to have fun. You have to entertain her. That is all, be interesting. Sometimes that is a matter of being romantic, or being funny. Everything from doing party tricks, to making jokes.
Pick up lines are good (I am terrible at them) and a good one will start a conversation.
On the other hand, I think what is more important is once you are into the conversation (this is what I am good at).
"Hey, I love this song." (a topical conversation..my trick to pick up girls at bars, shops and bus stops...it is easy and natural"
"Really, I like it too but I can't remember the name"
"It is from...."
"Oh, I am not really into that band"
"What sort of music do you like" (Ask her opinon, people like to be listened to"
See it is easy.
But the trick is to leave a little early, don't hang around all night. I once met a cute girl will waiting to watch some fireworks. The first hour of the conversation I had her hooked, after that you could tell she didn't really like me. I should have asked her number then headed home (but I wanted to watch the fireworks.....such a loser ??)
Stick to your goal. Don't try for more, maybe she will jump into bed with you. But don't make that your goal. If you entertain her, and then go, she will be happy to give you her number for the next time.
You look like a gentleman and you will surprised if she wants more you will know it.
