How to Chat on PS3 Online?

How do I chat with people while I am playing MLB or any other game? Do I need a keyboard or what? Thanks.
 
You do need a keyboard, and also you need to go to the PS3 menu, there should be an option bar, click on the option bar, and then go to the link called 'Chat' or 'Select Chat server' If this doesn't show up on your computer, email the support team, and tell them your problemo.
