How to change the play speed in Adobe Flash Cs4?

I'm not talking about the Fps, i mean when you're in the workspace and want to play it to check for errors. When i hit Enter, it starts playing but at a very slow speed, around 10 Fps, even when I set the fps at 24. If there are any options, settings, preferences I could change, could someone please tell me? The slow speed it really throwing off my timing.
