You need to select the part of the image that you want to keep and delete what is around it...there are tons of photoshop tutorials for this kind of thing out there. just google it and you will find lots of them. Photoshop CS4 and photoshop CS3/CS2 are practically the same with just a few tool updates, so even if the tutorial is for an older version it should still work!
