How to change index.html apache 2 ubuntu 9.04?

I recently set up an Apache 2 web server on my old laptop, and got a domain name from dyndns. When I enter my domain name in my browser I see the default apache screen, The one that says "it works". I have thrown together a simple html file that will do for now but I cannot figure out how to replace the default index.html file with my new one. I am running Apache 2, php5 mysql on Ubuntu 9.04 any links or advise would be great, thanks in advance.
