How to change E71 Calendar notification sound

Is there a way to change the calendar notification sound so it just beeps once or doesn't beep at all? Right now its beeping constantly until I turn it off its very annoying. Especially when it beeps while i'm still sleeping!

The only way I can see is that I have to go into every appointment and turn the alarm off which is pretty inconvenient.

I don't have an E71 and you can't change the number of time it alarms but you can turn it off completely or change the alarm to something else under profiles, normal, customize

Thanks for that I've just added my own sound clip that lasts one second and it still repeats it over and over. How do i make it so it just plays the sound once?

I actually asked the same question to a co-worker since our company switched us from the blackberry to the E71. With the blackberry the calendar alarm sounds once and then stops but the E71 continues whatever tone is selected for what seems to be a minute or longer.

I would like to know if you can set it to have a single tone and then stop without having to manually turn off the tone.

Sadly, this question has been bandied around for sometime already, and has no solution.

Either don't use alarms for calender entries, or set it to just vibrate. Alarm will not go away until u acknowledge it by stopping it.

what about creating a sound file that has a single tone and then a long period of silence, long enough that the notification time runs out so that it when an alarm sounds all you get is still a single tone?

Actually, it's not... In a normal world using any logical calendar apps, the alarm would notify you once -or however many times you'd like in the settings- and wont bother you again. In E71's calendar, it repeats annoyingly for a long time until you hit "stop". Alarm notifications are essential to any calendar app and being able to customize it should be a given. Your "solution" -or the lack thereof- is just absurd.

I am also looking for a way to solve this...

An alarm is something that is designed to draw your attention. What good therefore is an alarm that sounds only once? You might not hear that one beep and then you've missed it. You might as well just set no alarm if you're not that concerned about actually being alerted.

nokia will say: no single phone was made everyone happy. Regardless of what we do there will be someone unhappy about something

Yes, in a perfect world, they would have a section for calender alarms and it's ring type.

But this ain't a perfect world. You could try asking a 3rd party calender app maker for such an option. Don't expect Nokia to add such a function, they never do.

Have found a 3rd party software that claims to be able to change alarm settings for calender items called SBSH Mobile Software Reminders. It's not free of course, but hey, if this problem irks you so....
