I'm going to be purchasing a Betta fish for my husband as a gift. I have not, however, owned a fish before so I'd like to make sure I/we don't kill it. I plan on getting a smallish tank (as I was told they like smaller spaces) as well as a small heater. But I'm more than a little confused on its diet and eating habits. Do I just feed it one food or some kind of variety (if so, what?) and how often does it get fed? Thanks!
