How to cancel a sent message on Samsung Rogue?

If i hit send before i'm done typing the message all the way, is it possible for me (on the Samsung Rogue) to cancel that message before it is fully sent? i've tried hitting end, clear, and both at the same time. It's weird because maybe one out of ten times it will end up cancelling.... but what is the real key to cancel it? Thanks
