I have a problem where on 3 corners of a square three charges are given 3mC(upper left), -4 mC (lower left) and 5 mC (lower right). The question asks to find the next electric field at an open corner (upper right).
My question is how does one do that? How do you know whether the charges repel or attract if no charge is indicated at the upper right corner? Distance between corners is 12 cm.
How would the question change if a positive or negative charge was placed in the corner?
